The Goal Kick
The goal kick is a means of restarting play after the the whole of the ball goes over the end line and was last touched by an attacking player.
The goal kick acts as a direct free kick, so a strongly kicked ball into the opposing team's goal untouched would count.
The ball is in play only after it has cleared the penalty area.
If the goalkeeper passes the ball to a teammate in his own penalty box, the goal kick is re-taken.
The kicker does not replay the ball until it is touched by another player.
